A notebook your AI keeps for you

notespace is note storage for AI agents. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, and they can save what matters, find it again by meaning, and link notes into a wiki that grows across every conversation.

Works with apps that support MCP connectors: Claude on the web, desktop and Claude Code, ChatGPT, Dots, Codex, Grok, Grok Bot and Muse.

What your AI can do with it

You talk to your assistant as usual. notespace gives it somewhere to write things down and look them up later.

  • Remember across conversations

Start a new chat and your assistant picks up from its notes instead of from scratch.

  • Find notes by meaning

Search combines exact words with meaning, so “how do we price API work?” finds the pricing note. Chinese works too.

  • Link notes like a wiki

[[links]] are tracked both ways. Rename or move a note and every link to it is updated.

  • Keep every version

Each change is a new version. Nothing is overwritten by accident, and any note can be rolled back.

  • Separate work and personal

Notes live in spaces. Each app only gets the spaces you approve, read-only if you prefer.

  • Lock what should not change

Locked notes, like original sources, cannot be edited or deleted by an agent. Only you can unlock them.

Set it up in a few minutes

  1. Add the connector

In Claude or ChatGPT, add a custom connector with https://notespace.sh/mcp and sign in. You choose which spaces it can use. Steps for each app

  2. Choose a method, if you like

Ask for a Karpathy-style wiki, PARA, Zettelkasten or your own rules. You confirm before anything changes.

  3. Talk as usual

Say “save this”, “what did we decide about pricing?” or “file this article into the wiki”. The assistant does the filing.

Made for agents, not for screens

There is no editor to click through. notespace is a small set of tools your assistant calls directly, shaped to waste as few tokens as possible.

  • Eleven tools, described in about four thousand tokens.
  • Read one section of a long note, or its outline first.
  • Up to 50 changes in one call; they all apply or none do.
  • Every error says what to do next and carries what the agent needs to retry.
{"error":"version_conflict",
"message":"\"wiki/concepts/rag\" is at version 7, you sent 5",
"next":"Re-apply your change to the current content below and retry with expected_version=7.",
 "current":{"version":7,"content":"# RAG\n\nRetrieval-augmented generation…"}}

Two agents edited the same note. The error includes the current version, so the agent retries without another lookup.

Organize it your way

notespace does not impose a system. Each space can follow a method, and the server enforces its few hard rules, such as locking original sources.

  • Karpathy LLM wikiraw/ sources, locked wiki/ linked pages log what changed

Sources go in untouched; the assistant keeps a wiki built from them.

    Read how it works →
  • PARAprojects/ areas/ resources/ archives/

Filed by what each note is for right now.

    Read how it works →
  • Zettelkasteninbox/ literature/ zettel/ hubs/

One idea per note, densely linked.

    Read how it works →
  • Your ownclients/ meetings/ …

Describe how you work. Your assistant drafts the rules and you approve them.

Example: Dan Koe’s idea museum →

You stay in charge

  • Agents never issue keys or unlock notes, and they create spaces or change a method only after you approve.
  • Apps sign in with OAuth and see only the spaces you approve. Disconnect any of them from your account page.
  • Deleting your account erases its notes, history and keys rather than hiding them.
  • Your notes are not locked in: download all of them from your account page as a zip of Markdown files, one folder per space.

Questions

What is notespace?

notespace is note storage built for AI agents. Assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Grok connect to it and save, search, link and update Markdown notes for you, so what they learn in one conversation is there in the next.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI apps use outside tools. notespace is an MCP server: you add its address as a connector in your AI app, sign in once, and the assistant can use your notes.

Which AI apps work with notespace?

Any app that supports remote MCP connectors. It has been tested with Claude (claude.ai, the desktop app and Claude Code), ChatGPT, Grok, Grok Bot and Codex. The connector address is https://notespace.sh/mcp. Scripts and bots can use an API key instead.

Does search work in Chinese?

Yes. Keyword search indexes Chinese by single characters and character pairs, so short words like 報價 match. Search by meaning works across languages.

Can an AI app see all of my notes?

Only the spaces you approve when you connect it, and only read-only if you choose. You can disconnect an app at any time from your account page.

How is it different from Notion or Obsidian?

Those are apps for people to write in. notespace has no editor: your AI does the writing, and you read and change notes by asking it. The tools are designed so an agent spends as few tokens as possible.

Can I sign up?

Yes. Create an account with Google or an email address, then add the connector to your AI app.
